Notes: Wideman, a Canadian, has a good curveball and knows how to pitch. He does not have a great fastball so he needs his command to survive. Wideman is an extreme fly ball pitcher. He struggled with injuries in 2006 and may be headed for the bullpen in the near future. Wideman has a mature pitcher's body. He had more amateur experience than most Canadian high school players after spending the summer of 2001 with the Texas Storm and 2002 with the Texas Heat, two prominent travel teams. His fastball sits in the 86-88 mph range with good downhill plane.
